Today is my 5th week, counting from the day of my FI with Emirates. I’m still checking my online carreers site on a daily basis. Not 100 times a day anymore, but I do wake up and go to sleep with the hope of receiving my YWBC status 🙂
Well, that change hasn’t happened yet, however many people in the FB group are receiving on hold e-mails, which are definitely a good sign. They were chosen, successful in their application process, they just have to wait for the training center to be able to accept new batches, since it’s full at the time, until the end of 2013.
So here I am, waiting for my miracle to happen, and I want this soooo bad! 🙂 But in the meantime among my positive thoughts some negatives tend to slip in from time to time, and I’m afraid I won’t make it with Emirates. It would be a shattered dream, but let’s not think about that outcome for now.
However, while I’m waiting for my OH (on hold) or YWBC (you will be contacted) I took a step in a similar direction. …just in case…maybe because of curiosity…or for a smaller dream…Although the Dubai based Emirates is my big big #1 dream, still, I would be almost as happy to work for Etihad in Abu Dhabi, too. When I applied in 2009 (but never went to the interview, because I thought I was in love), it was an Etihad blog of a Hungarian girl that strengthened me in my wish to become crew for one of the Middle-Eastern airlines. It was a very useful, entertaining and up-to-date blog, about the bright and less bright sides of the life of a CC. So back then I had Emirates and Etihad in mind. Now Emirates was my first wish, but why waste a good Assessment Day, if I’m given a chance? Been there, done that too many times…and now I feel it’s m time to take control…and go for it! 🙂
So wish me luck on my road towards these 2 roadsigns…Dubai?…Abu Dhabi?…here I come 🙂
